examples of creative coding

week four – thursday 8th august

task two: independent study
This week’s example of creative coding from Open Processing is designed by the user ‘ndisorder’ and is called ‘echophon imitation‘. This output uses the mouseX and mouseY commands to influence the position of each rectangle element within the confines of the larger square.
I chose this output because as a designer, I liked the subtle interactivity of the design and the colour palette with the slim white outlines and the blocking of the grey creates a composition that could work for a wide range of applications.

task three: independent study
This weeks example of creative coding I found is an interactive design on Open Processing by the user Jean-no, their work is titled ‘Glass breaking’.
Each click creates the effect of breaking glass by splitting the screen in four parts from the mouse coordinates, each section the splitting further again. All the pieces move away from the centre of the mouse click as they break. Each click also changes the colour of the background that is randomly generated!

week one – thursday 18th of july

task four: – independent study
I found two cool examples of creative coding from this online gallery called ‘Open Processing’.

This first example ‘Orbit Waves’ I like because it is smooth and flowing whereas a lot of the creative code examples I found were more similar to my second example ‘Webby Numbers and Letters‘ where it was more static. That being said I have picked the numbers and letters design because I think the interactive element of changing it based on what you write on your keyboard is really cool, and I like that it is a moving ‘breathing’ typeface!
